Somewhere in the late 60's, Rodec was challenged by a local dealer of jukeboxes to solve a simple use case: provide a way for bartenders to switch between the music coming from the jukebox and the radio behind the bar.It was hard to predict that the simple appliance we built to do that, would be the seed for what eventually would become the MX series mixers.It was our customers, and specifically DJ's that showed us the way. With the rise of dance music and club culture, DJ's started to push the boundaries by adding a creative dimension to their performance. The combo of turntables and mixers turned out to be the quintessential gear for this.After perfecting the mixer for over five decades, it's time to listen to our community again. And we know, there's still a large fanbase out there that just wants us to sell them an MX180. But, is it really a faster horse we need?<h2>Blending the boundaries between studio and performance with a modular approach.</h2>Over the years, our customers, and what they want to do, have become more diverse.A lot of artists are crossing over between the previously separate universes of producers, DJ's and musicians.This creates the challenge to find the right setup for all of those different use cases, without compromising on artistic quality.Track focused use cases traditionally come with mixers that are not easy to bring on stage. And existing gear for performance focused use cases is often disappointing in its basic functionality. And with diversity comes a wide variation of use cases between individual artists.This brought us to the two leading principles as a starting point for our new product line: bring you the best of both the tracking and stage universes, and do this in a modular approach that allows you to build the exact gear you need.<h2>Our new product line</h2>Our new product line consist of a number of modules that you can bring together to build your perfect setup. The M500 series comes more from a tracking angle, while the M100 series brings a stereo performance approach. The modules come together in the MX Modular bay as a compact and user friendly piece of gear, that feels as much at home in the studio or on stage.

Redefining Rodec

Rodec gear is used and loved all over the world, but the brand is still firmly rooted in <a href='https://www.google.com/maps/place/Belgium/@50.4956486,3.34242,8z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x47c17d64edf39797:0x47ebf2b439e60ff2!8m2!3d50.503887!4d4.469936' target='_blank'>Belgium</a>, where it was founded close to seven decades ago. And with that mixer, Rodec was part of the perfect storm when Belgium became an early European hot spot for club culture and dance music.
